Title VI - Harrison County School Board - Received 2025-03-08 via Mail

Complaint narrative
Verbatim from the original submission.

Over the 2024-2025 school year, Black students at Harrison Central High have received out-of-school suspensions at approximately 4.2 times the rate of white students for comparable offenses (unauthorized cellphone use, dress code, tardiness). Assistant principals Mr. Callahan and Ms. Redmond have applied maximum discipline to Black students while issuing warnings to white students for the same conduct on the same days. I have attached the district's own discipline log from a public records request.
